My name is Ramon Torres and I was born and raised in LA. I am 23 years old with 20 years of swimming experience. I have participated in many racing events starting with Cal-Novice, YMCA Swim League, USA Swimming, and my all time favorite, Junior Olympics. Being on a swim team was very rewarding for me. I gained not only a lot of technique/skills but also to work to the best of my ability. I never knew it would bring me to where and what I am now. To be a coach became a goal of mine when I noticed I had the talent and skills to teach kids the things that were taught to me. I love the people I interact with and how it always makes my day better. The kids are amazing and my experience so far has been a blast. All coaches here are great and fun to work with. My goal here is to have the kids reach their highest ability under my supervision.
Hello my name is Amanda Kasimoff and I am excited to be one of the coaches at the Uptown YMCA! I started swimming at my local YMCA when I was 8 years old and I was hooked! It was then I knew that this was one of the things I enjoyed doing so I continued it, I was a competitive swimmer for 8 years, 4 of those years was for Schurr High School in Montebello, California. One of my biggest joys in life is seeing children grow in the different skills, values, and friendships they can learn right here at the YMCA.
Hello! My name is Jeremy Kasimoff, and I am ecstatic to be one of the coaches for the Greater Whittier Y. I have been swimming since I was 5 for my local Y and it opened many doors for me. I swam competitively for 9 years, 4 of which were my High School career. My goal is to be able to help teach children the skills they’ll need in life while still upholding the Y values of Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility. So they can not only be the best swimmer they can be, but the best person as well.
