Youth Basketball

The Y’s unique approach to youth sports emphasizes skill development, family involvement, character development, and low-competition. We always keep winning and losing in perspective.

Registration is now open for the Fall Basketball season!

Season runs from September 7 – October 26.

The YMCA of Greater Whittier offers Youth Basketball for boys and girls ages 5-12. Participants will learn the fundamentals of the sport in addition to learning how to play the game in a competitive manner.

The program is designed to develop each participant’s skill set in ball-handling, passing, shooting, and dribbling, as well as attaining a solid basketball foundation while learning how to apply defensive skills in a manner that is basketball appropriate. The YMCA of Greater Whittier is a Jr. Clippers Organization.
