Give to the Y

Why Give

For 107 years, the YMCA of Greater Whittier has partnered with the community to create a better future for all. As a nonprofit leader, our mission is to benefit the community and drive positive change. Our work is made possible by the generosity of donors, volunteers, and partners.

Within the local area, we partner with several local organizations, including schools, municipalities, and businesses, to address community challenges.

Through the Annual Campaign, we also raise crucial funds that support community members in need. These funds go towards maintaining facilities, providing financial assistance, and ensuring everyone can take part in our programs regardless of their financial situation.

We are proud to have made a significant impact in the lives of those we serve, and philanthropic funding ensures that we continue to meet the growing needs of our community. We invite others to join our cause and donate today.

Impactful Numbers

In 2022, donors to the YMCA of Greater Whittier made the following possible:

  • 612 – Youth served through our childcare programs.
  • 172,530 – Meals were served across two locations.
  • 43rd annual Christmas Prayer Breakfast held in 2022.
  • 100 – Youth had a summer adventure at YMCA Camp Arbolado.
  • 2,010 – Youths learned life-saving skills with the Safety Around Water Program
  • 683 – Seniors Engaged through community programs at the YMCA.

We seek donations to help us continue to provide these programs to our community. Any amount, no matter how large or small, can make a difference in the lives of the individuals we serve. Your donation will go towards providing quality programming, equipment, training, and the staff necessary to create an excellent experience for our members and program participants.

Leaving a Legacy

Members of the Heritage Society come from all walks of life but share a common vision of building a stronger future for our community through the YMCA. To become a member of the Heritage Society, a gift or pledge of $25,000 is required, with special recognition given to donations of $50,000 (Anniversary Club) and $100,000 or more (Century Club).

By making outright or planned gifts to the YMCA Endowment Fund, Heritage Society members invest in the future of our youth and families. These funds are invested for long-term income and growth, and a portion of the investment income supports YMCA programs each year.

The Heritage Society is a group of individuals who believe in the YMCA’s values and mission. They aim to provide a better tomorrow for society’s most vulnerable, especially children and youth. If you qualify as a Heritage Club member or wish to learn more, please complete the form below.
