Youth Camp

We Create Unforgettable Adventures and Strong, Confident Hearts!

At the Y we offer a variety of camp options for kids! At YMCA Camp Arbolado, campers live in a cabin with about 10 children their own age and two adult volunteer cabin counselors. All of our adult volunteer staff are trained and DOJ background checked. Throughout the Session, the campers will be encouraged to engage with each other, build strong cabin teams, and stronger Hearts.

We believe in creating healthy habits! Meals are served family style and every cabin eats together. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner consist of warm, delicious balanced meals. In addition, we also feature cereal, fruit, and salad bars. Vegetarian options are available at each meal. Fresh fruit snacks are available all day.

Every night, cabin groups have the opportunity to create and perform skits and songs with each other on stage. This is a truly magical activity where a child’s or teen’s confidence blossoms! Under the guidance of trained staff, our ropes course, mountain biking, leadership programs, water activities, and other camp programs foster confidence and independence. Every single staffer or volunteer is committed to seeing your child or teen leave our sessions with not only a big smile, but an even bigger heart!

Leadership comes from the heart!

Leaders-In-Training (LIT)

Learn important life skills while having fun at camp! The LIT program is for boys and girls ages 15 – 17 years old. They are led by a LIT Director and two LIT counselors. The LITs gain valuable real-world experience in Public Speaking, Communication, and Leadership.

LITs will participate in traditional camp activities as well as leadership workshops and mentoring opportunities throughout the week. While it is not necessary for a LIT to become a future counselor, much of the practical experience and skills learned will be aimed toward that possibility.

Experience nature.

Hike nearby trails with your cabin, learn about constellations in astronomy, take part in an out-camping experience. Relax near the creek during gold panning and get creative in our historic arts and crafts lodge.

It’s time to explore the outdoors!

Explore our grounds and learn about the natural world around you during our Nature, Geology, Native American, Leadership and High Adventure Programs.

Complete group challenges at our low ropes course.

Challenge yourself on our rock wall and high ropes courses. Test your precision on our archery range. Build your stamina on a mountain bike ride or invite another cabin or one of our classic camp games.

Swim, Paddle & Relax!

Cool off with your cabin at our ADA compliant swimming pool, and enjoy supervision by our certified lifeguards. Take a hike to our beach on picture-perfect Jenks Lake, and paddle around in a canoe or kayak.

Our Medical Center is ADA Accessible and provides us with the ability to isolate any child or adult. During all Kids Sessions, a Medical Technician is always working and living on-site.

Financial Aid

It is our belief that any child who wishes to experience YMCA Camp Arbolado should have the opportunity. In addition, we are happy to offer Financial Assistance to those in need, and we will do our best to ensure your child or children can go to Camp.
