For 108 years, the YMCA of Greater Whittier has been a cornerstone of community support and development. As a dedicated nonprofit organization, we strive to foster a brighter future for everyone. Locally, we collaborate with a variety of organizations, including educational institutions, government bodies, and businesses, to tackle the unique challenges our community faces.
Our Annual Campaign plays a pivotal role in raising essential funds that aid community members who are most in need. These contributions are vital for the upkeep of our facilities, offering financial aid, and guaranteeing inclusive access to our programs, irrespective of one’s economic status.

Impactful Numbers
Impactful Numbers for 2023 In the past year, the generosity of those who support the YMCA of Greater Whittier has enabled us to achieve:
- 824 – Youth empowered through our childcare initiatives.
- 73,249 – Nutritious meals provided at our facilities.
- 240 and $670,000 – Donations received in 2023.
- 1,365 – Youths acquired essential safety skills in water through our program.
- 616 – Senior citizens actively participated in our community outreach programs.
- 36 – Adults with diverse abilities were encouraged to achieve their highest potential in the Stride program.
Your contributions are instrumental in sustaining these valuable programs. Every donation, regardless of size, has the potential to significantly impact the individuals we support. Leaving a Legacy
Members of the Heritage Society come from all walks of life but share a common vision of building a stronger future for our community through the YMCA. To become a member of the Heritage Society, a gift or pledge of $25,000 is required, with special recognition given to donations of $50,000 (Anniversary Club) and $100,000 or more (Century Club).
By making outright or planned gifts to the YMCA Endowment Fund, Heritage Society members invest in the future of our youth and families. These funds are invested for long-term income and growth, and a portion of the investment income supports YMCA programs each year.
The Heritage Society is a group of individuals who believe in the YMCA’s values and mission. They aim to provide a better tomorrow for society’s most vulnerable, especially children and youth. If you qualify as a Heritage Club member or wish to learn more, please complete the form below.
