At the YMCA of Greater Whittier, you’ll find group exercise classes for all ages, all levels and all interests. We have more than 130 classes each week.

We are pleased to be able to offer a selection of outdoor & indoor group exercise classes at both our Uptown & East locations. Classes will be taught by our instructor Amanda Perez and take place on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Members must make a reservation at least 30 minutes in advance by phone at 562-943-7241 or by email at [email protected]. Upon arrival, check-in at the welcome desk is required. Please bring your own mat, towel and water bottle as we are unable to provide equipment at this time. Thank you!

Our schedule and offerings at this time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are as follows:

7:30-8:30 AM Zumba: Join the party that combines Latin and international music with dance moves! This fun aerobic workout alternates fast and slow dance rhythms for an interval training workout that feels more like a dance party!

8:30-9:30 AM Pilates: An overall toning and sculpting class that targets the deepest layers of muscle. Emphasis is placed on core muscle strength using precise movements initiated from the center of the body.

5:30-6:30 PM Strong: Get stronger with this demanding High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) class that syncs body weight, muscle conditioning, cardio and plyometric training moves to music. Squat, lunge, pushup and burpee to the music!

From low-impact group exercise and chair classes, stretching, and strength training to indoor cycling, water exercise, yoga, and tennis, you’ll find a group class that’s fun, supportive and keeps you moving.

LES MILLS BODYPUMP® is the original barbell class for absolutely everyone. Instructors will show you all the moves and techniques to make your first class safe, fun and give you strength for everyday life. BODYPUMP® gives you a total body workout that burns calories, shapes, and tones without building bulky muscles. The encouragement, motivation, and great music in every BODYPUMP class will achieve the results you want and deserve!

RPM™ is a group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun, low impact and you can burn up to 675 calories a session. With great music pumping and the group spinning as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. In an RPM workout you repeatedly spin the pedals to reach your cardio peak then ease back down, keeping pace with the pack to lift your personal performance and boost your cardio fitness. RPM is a great way to build up your sense of personal achievement. You can draw on the group’s energy and find your rhythm in the music. You control your own resistance levels and speed so you can build up your fitness level over time. It’s a journey, not a race! RPM is also available as a virtual workout.
